My copper MK2 ibiza cupra *PICS FROM IBIZA LAUNCH MEET*

Well-the correct name being seat ibiza cupra sport gti-but that's just a mouthful
I thought i'd put pics up of my mk2, it does feel like the mk2's get overlooked to the more fancy newer ones but lets face it without the mk2-they wouldn't exist! This is where it all began the original and best-in my opinion of course
I bought my cupra almost 3 years ago, haven't done much to him as I want to keep him as standard looking as possible. I love the mk2's and will drive this til it blows!
I bought him at 90k, the guy before me had lowered it and I added an exhaust. The bodywork isn't the best but it is a P plate. The rust really got me down, I was embarrassed to drive it but I see it as a blessing in disguise. It keeps me grounded and stops me getting big headed about the car. The car has gave me no hassle what so ever so the only reason I would get the rust fixed is for my own vanity-pride before a fall and all that. So without further ado here is my boy rust and all











A few months ago I hit a pothole pretty bad and the bumper came off on one side, I got it repaired but just like the golfs, the plastic bit snapped and it now hangs down




I did have pressed metal plates but was told to remove them swiftly


After getting his exhaust done at stainless creations


And after getting a wash he comes up very nice

I got some wind deflectors about a month ago, so they are on and I definitely want to get coilovers for it too and that's it so far
I'd love to hear peoples opinions about it.

Thanks kezz, I really need to get some pics of him with his wind deflectors, the one on fb is rubbish lol.
I want to go lower, get some coilies and go down about 90 I would say-not too much as I already his his chin off the road when i'm coming out of my street and onto the main one i'm going to try and get that done before inters, I want the roof done and the wheels done too. I don't know if they will be ready by inters though as i'm thinking i'd better change the cambelt. Is there any warning signs of a cambelt on it's way out?

Yours is identical to mine-and the same abf engine! So how come yours isn't the cupra? And you have a sunroof and aircon!!! Did the cupra only come in copper n kiwi? Now you have me confused-there I am minding my own business and you drop this bombshell on me haha! Oh this will be a long night

i have also seen the cupra in the other colours but so far i havent seen a cupra with a sunroof so ime thinking thats the only difference apart from the interior the cupra interior is sooo much nice imo i have the cupra seatbelts ( the red ones ) also from what i can make out things like air con etc were extras when people orderd them my first owner was no cheap skate well thats what i can make out anyway ime sure someone some where will have a different ancwer to this never ever ending question

also the cupra trim is a carbon effect on some of them on the back where it says seat ibiza on the cupra thats carbon looking and the trim round the doors and also they had a different gear stick

Yeah that's what I have! But my interior is half leather and that blue/green stripe. I love the tiger stripe interior but in european cupras it's on the ones that have "cupra 2" on the side so I don't know if it was later ones or facelift ones.

i only hav the gti16v cloth interior i would love the red half leather though if could get the writing changed i would put it in

i really want the rear stip that says ibiza gti but from what i can make out it was only on the early ibiza gti's

Why can't you put it in? I love the red tiger stripe. Does yours say "GTI 16V" on the seats aswell?
so main differences between a GTI and cupra-
gti has cloth interior cupra has half leathers
gti has sunroof (and air con as optional extra) cupra doesn't

does yours have anything different to mine on the outside? apart from the sunroof of course.

Oh right, the first owner of mine must have been a skinflint, either that or he was like it's perfect as it is!
It's just really weird I would never had known, not that it mattered they look the exact same from the outside anyway.
